Delta Lloyd NV is a Netherlands-based financial services provider offering life insurance and pensions, general insurance, fund management and banking products and services. Delta Lloyd's activities are divided into five segments:

• Life segment comprises Delta Lloyd’s life insurance, savings, pensions and annuity business activities; 
• General segment provides insurance cover to individuals and businesses for risks associated with motor vehicles, property, disability and liability, such as employers’ liability and professional indemnity liability; 
• Bank segment unites retail banking and mortgage activities in Belgium and the Netherlands. 
• Asset Management invests funds for own risk and policyholders risk, provides investment management services for fund and manages investment funds; 
• Other comprises any non-reportable segments such as mortgages unrelated to the Life and Bank segments and run-off activities. 

On July 18, 2014, Binckbank NV sold its 50% interest in Befrank NV to Delta Lloyd NV.

Fubon Life invests €204m in Delta Lloyd NV

Fubon Life announced on March 17, 2015 the acquisition of 12 million shares of Delta Lloyd NV at €17 per share, with a total of €204m acquisition and 5.47% stake in Delta Lloyd NV. It was a financial investment for Delta Lloyd NV’s good dividend yield (approx. 6%) and low P/E ratio (approx. 7-8 times). As continuous growth is expected, this will be a long-term investment for steady income.

According to Fubon Life, Delta Lloyd NV is the fourth largest Dutch insurer with an asset scale of about €90b and engages in property insurance, life insurance, and banking. Delta Lloyd NV has 5,030 employees and sales locations in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany. Its 2014 premium income was up to €3.9b, with net operating result at €377m.

Fubon Life added, it will launch operational exchanges with Delta Lloyd NV after the investment to broaden its international horizons and enhance competitiveness.
